Obituary of Marjorie Joyce Healy
It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Marjorie Joyce (Lyne) Healy at Saint John Regional Hospital on November 1, 2011. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, December 19, 1923 she was the daughter of Harry and Hazel (Welkos) Lyne. She is survived by her husband Everett, daughters Barbara (Don) Munro, Belleisle Creek NB, Anne (Roger) LeBlanc, Bedford NS, Pati Teed (Murray Hoyt), St. Andrews NB, son Michael Healy, Fredericton NB, brother Richard (Jean) Lyne, Edmonton AL, grandchildren Laura, Ryan, Jennifer, Sarah, David, Lisa, Katie, Michael, Danny, Christine, Emily and great-grand children Monicah, Anthony and Morgan. She was pre-deceased by her first husband William H. Hewson, sons James Healy and Bruce Hewson, and daughter-in-law Valerie Healy. After graduating from McMaster University, she lived and worked in Ottawa before starting her family in Toronto and moving to Moncton in 1953, followed by a move to Saint John in 1967. After retirement, Ev and Marge enjoyed 18 years in Florida where she was a cracker-jack shuffleboard player. She loved her garden, family get-togethers and was especially fond of the ‘breakfast after church’ group. They spent many happy years at their summer home on the Belleisle. She was a member of the ACW, St. Paul’s (Valley) Church, YMCA Ladies Auxiliary, and the University Women’s Club. She curled at St. Andrews and Riverside Curling Clubs and enjoyed her weekly bridge club. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday, November 3 from 2 – 4 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Church, Rothesay on Friday, November 4 at 11 am. Internment will take place in Moncton at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the James Healy Memorial Fund at Mt Allison University, 82A York St, Sackville, NB, E4L 1G2 would be appreciated by the family.
