Obituary of Earl Joseph Hebert

With appreciation of a life well lived, the family of Earl J. Hebert, loving husband to the late Anna (McCarthy) Hebert, grieve for his passing which occurred on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, with his family by his side. Born in Lower Caraquet, NB on February 15, 1924, he was a son of the late Peter and Justine (Gionet) Hebert. Earl was a veteran of World War II. Earl was a hard worker and wore many hats during his years of employment. He was employed as a private chauffeur for James Harrison and Mr. Allison of Gandy & Allison Ltd., a chauffeur and caretaker for the Sisters of Charity, for a number of years, he was employed with the City of Saint John as a heavy equipment operator and for many years worked the Long Shore. Earl was a man of faith, being a member of Stella Maris Parish and a former member of the Holy Name Society, St. Peter’s and St. Pius X parishes. Earl will be dearly missed by his family; his three sons: Joseph (Gloria), John (Crystal) and Frank, four daughters: Erline (Thomas) Walsh, Nancy Marie Patterson, Bonita Jean (Paul) Barker and Rosanne (Gary) Spencer, his sister Jeannie LeBouthillier, 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and members of his extended family. Besides his parents and wife Anna who predeceased him in 2006, Earl was predeceased by two sons: Christopher and Paul, a daughter Margaret Totton, five sisters: Clara, Victoria, Alice, Estella and Yvonne and two brothers: Albert and Martin. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Wednesday, November 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 with a Legion Service taking place at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Redeemer Parish, 316 Somerset Street on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 12 Noon with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Autism Community Centre Inc
