Obituary of Harold James Dick
Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital on Friday, June 24, 2011 with his family at his side. Born in Saint John, N.B., he was a son of the late Oscar John and Ethel (Bannister) Dick. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Marian Dick. Loving father of Barbara Gray (David) of Brockville ON, and Gordon Dick (Corrina) of Mineville, NS. Cherished grandfather of Christina Alloway (Glenn), Justin and Matthew Dick, Sean and Alexandra Gray and Julia Dick. Proud Great-grandfather of Sebastian and Maria Alloway. He is also survived by his sister, Winnifred Walsh of Saint John, N.B., brother-in-law Burt Oldfield of Grand Bay-Westfield, N.B., sister-in-law Evelyn Dick of Saint John, N.B. and brother-in-law John Smarzik (Jane) of Ottawa, ON., and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth, Ralph, Barlett and Hazen and by his sisters, Helen Oldfield and Grace Turner. Harold was proud to be a member of the Masons - Hazeldean Lodge No. 517. Visitation took place at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St. E. Brockville, ON on Wednesday, June 29th followed by cremation at Roselawn. Harold's funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 11th at Trinity Anglican Church in Saint John, N.B. with a reception to follow. Funeral arrangements in New Brunswick are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. Interment at Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John. As expression of sympathy, donations to the Parish of St. Lawrence, Brockville or Trinity Anglican Church, Saint John would be appreciated by the family.
