Obituary of Betty Louise Stevens
Stevens, Betty L. – Unexpectedly the death of Betty Louise Stevens of Saint John, occurred on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her residence. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of David Hodgson and the late Muriel (Dickson) Hodgson. In Betty’s earlier years she was employed with a Telephone Answering Service as an operator. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo, and watching T.V. Besides her father David, she is survived by one daughter, Shyanne King (Donald) of Saint John; two sisters, Dianne Edison, Thelma Burke (Terry) both of Saint John; two brothers, Ronnie Hodgson (Sherry) of Anagance, NB, and Stephen Hodgson of Saint John; three grandchildren, Ryan, Donnie (Leisha), and Danika; one great-grandson Leo; several nieces and nephews. Besides her first husband, Danny Norris and her mother, Muriel she was predeceased by one son, David, one grandson, Daniel William and one brother, Bobby. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be placed at www.brenansfh.com.
