Obituary of William Albert Lockhart
William (Bill) Albert Lockhart passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, September 3, 2011 in Saint John, New Brunswick. Bill will be dearly missed by his family: his son John Lockhart, of Victoria, son David Lockhart and his wife Mary Jane, of Calgary, daughter Jane Lunney, of Mississauga, and son-in-law Paul Lunney, of Saint John. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Stewart), daughter Anne Lockhart, and daughter-in-law Cheryl (Stevens) Lockhart. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Crystal Keenan (Lockhart), and Alissa, Tom, and Eileen Lunney. Bill was also immensely proud of his three great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Brooklyn, and Nicholas Keenan. Bill spent his career working as a sales representative across the Atlantic provinces, and in his later years became quite accomplished at furniture refinishing. He had a lifelong love for music, singing in Westfield United church choir for much of his life and instilling the same appreciation for music in his children and grandchildren. A private interment ceremony will be held at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Online condolences may be placed at www.brenansfh.com. Bill’s family would like to extend warmest thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital for making him feel so comfortable and at peace.
