Obituary of Dorothy Constance McPherson
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dorothy Constance McPherson, wife of Robert McPherson, occurred on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on December 27, 1920 she was a daughter of the late Roy and Lillian (Trifts) Watson. Dorothy was always very active in sports especially tennis, gymnastics and ballet and continued her passion for sports through out her life and her children’s. She was a volunteer for 25 years with the Canadian Red Cross Blood Services and also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Dorothy was an active member of the IODE for many years especially during the war years. She was an avid gardener. Dorothy’s biggest joy in life was spending her formative summers in Grand Bay with her husband and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert; two sons, Andrew (Karen) McPherson of Seattle, Washington and David (Susan) McPherson of Saint John; one granddaughter, Jessica McPherson. Predeceased be her parents and her brother, Harold Watson. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 12:00 noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
