Obituary of Audrey Frances Friars

It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Audrey Frances (Walls) Friars, wife of the late Russell E. Friars. Audrey passed away at the Shannex Nursing Home in Quispamsis, NB on September 16, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Alfreda (Chamberlain) Walls. Audrey was born October 7, 1927 in Chatham, NB and moved to Saint John as a child and spent most of her life in the east end of the city. She was a member of Silver Falls United Church. She will be sadly missed by her son, Glen Friars (Gail), and daughter Kelly Dugay (Billy); her much loved grandsons Kyle Friars (Melissa Mallette) and Scott Friars (Katelyn Kimball) and granddaughters Breanne and Shannyn Dugay; special friend Marlene Jeffers, several nieces and nephews; caregivers Jan Palmer, Paula Kemp, Valerie Carson, Yvette East and the many wonderful people at the Shannex Nursing Home. Audrey was predeceased by her husbands, Russell Friars and Richard Lobb; two brothers Norman and Donald Walls; two sisters Ruth Harrison and Jean Stanley and caregiver Debby Saunders. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Silver Falls United Church, Loch Lomond Road on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Cancer Society, Arthritis Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
