Obituary of John Gregory Logan
John Gregory Logan of Saint John, husband of Joan D. (Cook) Logan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 05, 2012 after a courageous battle with ALS. Greg was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Born at Saint John on June 17, 1938, he was a son of the late John and Kathleen (Shannon) Logan. Greg was employed the majority of his working life with Saint John Shipbuilding, beginning in 1959 and retiring 41 years later. He was a member of the Beaus and Belles Square Dance Club, as well as the Starlight Promenaders. He bowled at the Lansdowne Bowling Lanes and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs Fan. In his spare time, Greg enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time at his camp, as well as walking and jogging. His greatest joy in life, however, was spending time with his family and with his dog Zoë. In addition to his wife of 53 years, Greg is survived by his children Barry Logan (Isabelle) of Saint John, Belinda Whittaker (Doug McKenzie) of Woodstock, Darlene Sabean (Michael) of Saint John, and Malcolm Logan of Saint John; grandchildren Crystal (Trevor), Shane, Andrew, Vanessa, Jordon, Brenton, and Connor; a great granddaughter, Scarlet as well as one on the way; a sister, Mary (Seely) Miller (Ron) of Bayswater; a sister-in-law, Audrey Cosman of Saint John; a brother-in-law Edward "Brud" Cook (Marilyn) of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Greg was predeceased by a grandson, Tristan; and by sisters Constance Rogers (John) and Nora O’Dell (Buddy). Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 12:00 Noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the ALS Society would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com.
