Obituary of Howard Watson Hutchinson
The death of Howard W. Hutchinson, husband of Dorothy A. (Coyle) Hutchinson, occurred on Wednesday, November 02, 2011 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home in Sussex, NB. Born September 5, 1935, he was a son of the late Thomas and Lettie Mae (Kierstead) Hutchinson. Howard spent a combined 36 years with #112 Company RCASC and 31 Service Batallion, retiring as Warrant Officer. He was a member of #76 Branch Royal Canadian Legion and the City & District Dart League. Howard also enjoyed hunting, bowling and agitating. Besides his wife, Howard is survived by children: Christene M. Sooley (Daryl Saunders) of Nauwigewauk, Anthony H. "Tony" Hutchinson of Hampton, Kimberley A. Chown of Hampton, Brian M. Hutchinson of Saint John, Todd E. Hutchinson (Vivian Spence) of Saint John; step-children: Mark Reed (Edna), Jon Andrew Reed, and Cindy-Lee MacFarland; 8 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers: Frederick (Eileen), Murray (Mabel) and Donald (Harriett); sisters: Myrtle Foster, Peggy Anderson and Mable Little and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Bonita Hutchinson; sons-in-law: Selwyn Sooley and Garry Chown; brothers: Charlie, William, Harold, Kenneth, Gordon and Lorne; sisters: Georgie, Gertrude and Olive and his first wife, Emma May Hutchinson. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Friday from 3:00 – 8:00 PM. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery, Norton. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
