Obituary of Lawrence Melbourne MacKay
It is with great sadness that the family of Larry MacKay announce his passing on December 16, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 15, 1951, he was a son of the late Neill and Minnie Belle (Parlee) MacKay. Larry was self-employed as a crack filler until 2008. He loved listening to music and spending time with his beautiful granddaughters, who were the apples of his eye. When his girls were around, Grampy MacKay could always be found involved in a nice "Sorry" game, with lots of kisses, tickles, and "I love you" being passed around the game board. Larry is survived by his wife, Dora; daughter, Michelle Thompson (Bruce); son, Shawn MacKay (Aimee); step-son, Donald Bastiaens; grandchildren, Kayla (Putter), Alysha (Lele), Alexandra(Ally Cat), and Maddy (Mat Mat); two brothers, Winston (Helen) and Bruce (Donna); four sisters: Dawn Walker (Doug), Beverley Rideout, Patricia Cassie, and Grace MacKay (Steve); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Stacey; two brothers, Earl and Ronald; and two sisters, Nancy and Glenna. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424). A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2020 Loch Lomond Road, on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 2:30 PM. Remembrances to A Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family. Condolences and remembrances may be made at www.brenansfh.com.
