Obituary of Ethel Mae Hooper
The death of Ethel Hooper, wife of the late Gordon Hooper occurred on July 17, 2011 at Kennebec Manor Nursing Home. She was born on May 18, 1921 in Saint John to the late Albert and Flora (Lyle) Combs. Ett worked for the Saint John Regional Hospital until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of All Saints Anglican Church Park Avenue and the Loch Lomond Villa Seniors Out Reach Program. Ethel is survived by her children: Ann Myers (Patrick) of Bellisle, Vera Gallant (Paul) of BC, Cecil Hooper (Barbara) of Hampton, NB, and Gloria McLean (Roy), Kevin Hooper (Debra), Linda Totten (Dale), and Chris Hooper (Beth) all of Saint John; sisters: Ellie Maynes of Miramichi, Berle Marley of Saint John, and Claire Lynes of California; many grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; brothers: Duke, Herbie, and Jim and sisters: Mernie, Margaret, Evelyn and Bessie. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 2 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
