Obituary of Theodore Herbert Stevenson
STEVENSON, Theodore Herbert "Steve"1921-2011 Theodore Herbert "Steve" Stevenson, husband of the late Nancy Stevenson, passed away on December 18, 2011 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Steve was born on September 27, 1921. Steve fought in Europe during World War Two, where he was injured, and also lost his brother Garfield while fighting in France. He has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. In his early years, he was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed curling, golf and fishing, and he previously sang in the Montreal Welsh Choir, and was a member of the St. John Baptist (Mission) Church, where he enjoyed playing the organ and was in the church choir. Steve leaves many friends and family behind who will miss him. He is survived by his sister Dorothy from Quebec, his three sons; Garfield (Brenda) of Nova Scotia, John (Francine) of Bloomfield, and Paul (Sheila) of PEI, as well as six grandchildren; Tracey, Shelley, Rachel, Jason, Christopher, Jeffrey, and six great-grandchildren. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Church of St. John the Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement, 815 Millidge Avenue on Wednesday at 11:00 am. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute to a Veteran service on Tuesday at 7:30 pm. For those who wish, remembrances to Mission Church would be appreciated by the family.
