Obituary of M. Eleanor Price

It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor Price of Saint John, cherished wife of the late Fergus Price, announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Shannex Tucker Hall. Born on April 19, 1920 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Hudson and Ethel (Rubins) Breen. In her younger years, Eleanor loved to skate and travel. She also enjoyed many years at the family summer camp in Sand Point. Eleanor was a former member of the Thistle-St. Andrew’s Curling Club, IODE and the YM-YWCA. She was also a past member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club and Daughters of the Nile. Eleanor took great comfort in her faith and was a lifelong member of Trinity Anglican Church and Ladies Auxiliary. During her working career, she was employed for 19 years with Family Services as an administrative assistant. Eleanor is survived by her children, David Price (Cheryl) of Quispamsis, Paul Price (Jacqueline) of Saint John and Mary Ellen Hogan (Patrick) of Grand Bay-Westfield; seven grandchildren, Todd, Andrew, Tracey, Jeffrey, Ryan, Kristina and Kristopher; seven great-grandchildren, Jarred, Emily, Maguire, Rowan, Alex, Jaxon and Rhys; as well as two nephews, Robert Breen of Fredericton and John Breen of Ontario. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, which will be immediately followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM, all from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the John T. McMillian Jr. Memorial Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
