Obituary of Howard Urdang
Beloved husband of the late Jeanette Sarah Urdang, father, grandfather, brother and friend Howard Urdang passed away peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital on Saturday September 24, 2011. Born in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late Louis & Sara (Susie) Urdang. He has been a resident of St. Stephen since 1934. Howard and his wife owned and operated Urdang’s Outlet Stores. Howard was an avid fisherman, dedicated Kiwanian for 57 years and sat on several community boards. Howard will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Howard is survived by two sons, Stuart (Joanne) Urdang of Saint John and Lee (Jane) Urdang of St. Stephen; two daughters, Ruth (Stephen) Pearson of Canning, NS and Marcia Urdang of Kelowna BC; sibling Selma (Gerald) Cope, of Portland, Maine ; six grandchildren, Heather, Jennifer, Bryana, Louis, Benjamin and Sara; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. Interment will take place in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. Following the burial a reception will be held at Brenan’s Reception Centre.
