Obituary of Leonard Sydney Thorburne

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Leonard "Len" Sydney Thorburne, husband of Winnifred "Winnie" (Craig) Thorburne, which occurred on Sunday, November 25, 2018. Born in Brookfield Mines, NS, he was the son of the late Edgar Thorburne. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was employed with the Provincial Hospital, Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, and a taxi driver. Besides his wife Winnie he is survived by daughter Judy McCann, step-daughters: Patricia Andrusyk and Joan Kirby; grandchildren: John McCann, Madison Sparrow, Trevor, Sean, Terri, Michael, Tom, Jeffrey, Natalie, Kathy (Darren), Chris and Dana (Laura); several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his father he was predeceased by son Randy; Daughter Terri; brother Bill; sisters: Jean and Blanche. Resting at Mission Pt. Church, 130 Mark Drive, Saint John, NB, with visiting on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 am from the church. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). For those who wish remembrances to Mission Pt.
