Obituary of Norman Charles Engalls
It is with great sadness the family of Norman Charles Engalls, loving husband of Janice Engalls, announce his passing on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late Arnold and Margaret (Stevens) Engalls.
In his earlier years Norman worked as a Security Guard for Industrial Security, however, his favourite job was as a crossing guard for M. Gerald Teed School. He loved giving treats to the school children on the special holidays throughout the year. Norman was also very involved with Scouts Canada being on the staff for the Courtney District and second in command for sub camp Zeus. He enjoyed being a Scout Leader and going on camping trips with the boys. He also had a passion for hunting and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Norman will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janice; sons, Andrew Engalls and Mark Engalls both of Saint John; daughter, Stacy Hilden (Hal) of Saint John; grandchildren, Hayley Hilden, Austin, Leah, Katie, and Avery Engalls and Taliya Engalls-Spencer.
In addition to his parents, Norman was predeceased by his infant brother, Charles (Benjamin), and cousin, Sharon Doyle.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM from RiverCross Church, 61 Forbes Drive, Saint John. Interment to take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or RiverCross Church.
