Obituary of Eva May Stevens
Eva Stevens of Saint John passed away at Residential Hospice, 385 Dufferin Row, Saint John, NB on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 after a brief illness at the age of 82. She was born in Fairville, NB on May 28, 1929 to the late John (Jack) and Hazel (Wlliamson) Stevens. Eva was employed as a dispatcher for ABC Taxi for several years. She is survived by her son, Melvin Barton (Debbie) of Cumberland Bay, NB; daughter, Donna Barton of St. Andrew’s, NB; one sister, Edna Kindred (Stevens); three brothers, Jacky, Murray and Donald (Marg) Stevens; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by brothers, Ronald, Fred and Kenny Stevens and one sister, Shirley (Kincade) Stevens. At Eva’s request there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hope House, Hospice Saint John would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
