Obituary of Myrna M. Buckley
Buckley, Myrna M. – The death of Myrna M. (Van Tassell) Buckley formerly of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Willard Buckley occurred on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Kingsway Care Centre. Born at Digby, NS, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Weagle) Van Tassell. She was employed with the Saint John General Hospital in the dietary. Myrna, also known as "Van", loved the outdoors, gardening, chopping trees, great camping and travelling. She loved knitting, cross stitching, and crocheting and was a great cook and entertainer. Her joy in life was seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and flourish. Myrna is survived by one son, Willard Buckley of Rothesay; one daughter, Dawn Kane (Bob) of Rothesay; three grandchildren: Chris (Susie), Jaimie (Jen) Kane and Laura (Steve) Rupert; six great grandchildren: Rebecca, Molly, and Joey Kane, Emma and Abby Kane and Alison Rupert; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her nine brothers and sisters. To honour Myrna’s request, following cremation visiting will take place on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) Tuesday at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances to Kings Way Care Centre would be appreciated by the family. On line condolences can be placed at www.brenansfh.com
