Obituary of John Garfield Keirstead
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of John "Jack" Garfield Keirstead husband of Marie (Lacey) Keirstead which occurred on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born on October 29, 1934 in Hampton, NB, he was a son of the late Harold and Mabel (Anthony) Keirstead. Jack was employed with Webb and Associates as a Financial Advisor until his retirement. He was Past President of Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4; he enjoyed gardening, playing and watching baseball, hockey, curling and soccer. Besides his wife Marie he is survived by one son, Peter Keirstead of Toronto; one daughter, Susan Keirstead of Taree, New South Wales, Australia; three brothers, Fenton Keirstead (Gladys) of Rothesay, Winston Keirstead (Marilyn) of Fredericton, and Vernon Keirstead of Hampton; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one brother, Robert and one sister, Marilyn. To honour Jack’s request there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Upper Hampstead at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to Parkinson’s Society of Canada, Upper Hampstead Cemetery Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
