Obituary of James Morrow
James Morrow of Saint John, husband of Audrey Elizabeth (Lewell) Morrow, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Saint John Residential Hospice. Born at Glenkeen, Limavady, Northern Ireland on December 29, 1927, he was a son of the late Henry and Edith (Rice) Morrow, and moved to Canada with his family in April of 1929. In his early working life, James was employed with Wassons Spa on King Street, but subsequently worked at CN Express from July 1952 until December 1986. In his spare time, James enjoyed working with electronics and creating graphics on his computer. He and Audrey loved to travel, especially to the United States. He was an avid fan of the New York Islanders and the Boston Red Sox, and liked listening to Martina McBride. In addition to his wife Audrey, whom he married on April 28, 1951, James is survived by his children David Morrow (Cindy) of Fairfield, Dale Morrow of Saint John, Linda Kingston (Blaine) of Saint John, and Darren Morrow (Roxanna) of Saint John; grandchildren Krystal and Matthew Kingston, Brandon and Cindy Morrow, and Carrie Clayton; sisters Mary Wilkins of Markhamville, NB, Maple Swetz (Bill) of London, Ontario, Etta Sharpe (John) of Tuscon, AZ, Jean McKenzie (Merle) of Piccadilly, Aileen Duplessis (Charles) of Fredericton, Edith Rankin of Lincoln, Peggy Gamble of St. Martins, and Kay Carson of Bloomfield; a brother, Hugh Morrow (Velda) of Burton; and several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by a son, Donald Morrow. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the Doctors and Staff of Bobby’s Hope House, who were a great comfort to James and all the family during his stay with them. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hope House or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be placed at www.brenansfh.com.
