Obituary of Olivia Catherine Nora Maher
It is with great sadness that the family of Olivia Catherine Nora Maher, beloved wife of Harold Maher, announce her passing on December 9, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on April 17, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Frances (Connell) McNally.
Olivia always looked forward to playing Bingo with her sisters and adored her pet dog, Ladybug. Family was important to Olivia and she especially cherished the times spent with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Olivia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold; daughters, Linda Yasinski (Lee) of Delburne, Alberta and Donna Griffin (Andrew) of Saint John; sisters, Nancy Lanigan (Patrick) of Quispamsis, Janice DeWolfe of Saint John and Sandra Wilson (Sandy) of Long Reach; sisters-in-law, Barbara McNally of Saint John Debbie McNally of Chapel Grove and Donna McNally; grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan and Jonathan Yasinski, Tyler, Nicholas and William Griffin.
In addition to her parents, Olivia was predeceased by her brothers, Lawrence, Stanley and Michael; infant sister, Brenda; brothers-in-law, Alfred and Gordon.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise RowSaint John (634-7424), with visiting on December 16, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers and for those who wish, remembrances in Olivia’s memory may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada – Saint John Chapter or a charity of the donor’s choice.
