Obituary of Bruce David Polley
Bruce David Polley of Saint John passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 27, 2011 at his residence. Born at Saint John on May 11, 1951, he was a son of George and Constance (Cairns) Polley. Bruce worked in the insurance field for many years, and was a convenience store owner for many years as well. He enjoyed restoring older cars, and was an avid dog show attendee, helping his daughter with the Irish Setters and English Setters that they showed. Bruce always saw the good in everyone, and was well liked and respected. In addition to his parents of Saint John, Bruce is survived by a daughter, Shyanne Polley of Saint John; a son, James Polley (Melissa) of Saint John; grandchildren Melissa and Tori Polley, and Colton, Alyssa, and Breanna Charters; brothers Hugh Polley (Pettie) of Calgary, AB, Wayne Polley of Saint John, and Ron Polley (Kendra Scriver) of Toronto; and two nephews, Reese and Allan. Bruce was predeceased by a son, Shane D. Polley; a granddaughter, Taylor Ann Polley; and a grandson, Anthony Polley. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM. For those who wish, remembrances to the Cherry Brook Zoo or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
