Obituary of Peter Timothy Dolan
Peter Timothy Dolan of Quispamsis, husband of Sheila (McNamara) Dolan, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at his residence. Born in Moncton on March 29, 1947, he was a son of the late William and Monica (Sullivan) Dolan. Peter had retired as General Manager of Aliant Actimedia, having worked in Montreal, Toronto and Saint John. He was a proud graduate of St. Francis Xavier University, and passionately kept in touch with his StFX friends. Peter was very community minded, and was currently the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Loch Lomond Villa, and was a past member of the Board of Directors of the Saint John Boys and Girls Club, and was a past member of the Saint John Rotary Club. In his spare time, Peter enjoyed golfing, sailing, skiing, and traveling with Sheila. In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by his children, Timothy Dolan (Julia) of Toronto and Susan Balgopal (Ryan) of Toronto; grandchildren Eleanor and Ronan Balgopal, and Oliver, Beatrice, and Emmett Dolan; brothers Bill Dolan (Bernadette) of Whitby, ON, Jerry Dolan (Helen) of Calgary, AB, Dick Dolan (Margaret) of Vancouver, BC, Mike Dolan (Darlene) of Vancouver, BC, and Pat Dolan (Elizabeth) of Calgary, AB; two aunts, Bertie Sullivan and Mary Sullivan, both of Whitby, ON; a brother-in-law, Joe McNamara (Terri) of Quispamsis; sisters-in-law Maureen Levy (Vic) of Tampa, FL, Sharon Moody (Barry) of Port Royal, NS, and Carrie Riley of Toronto; family friends Jim and Bernice Teed; as well as numerous much loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Miramichi, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Saint John Boys and Girls Club would be appreciated by the family.
