Obituary of Gerald Adrian Hudson
It is with deep sadness, but appreciation for a life well-lived that the family of Gerald A. "Gerry" Hudson announces his passing which occurred on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Kilburn, NB on October 23, 1935, he was a son of the late John and Doris (Sloat) Hudson.
Gerry loved life. He was an avid golfer, hiker, photographer and nature-lover. He was an active member of the seniors community – involved with the senior games, his church, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 69. Gerry advocated for the seniors of NB, and volunteered his time with many activities. He was a beloved father & grandfather, and left a lasting impact on their lives.
Gerry will be missed by his childen: Robert Hudson of Montreal, QC, Catherine Green (Scott) of Sussex, NB, Patricia Hudson (Brad Miller) of Upper Kent, NB, Janet Vaughan (Robert) of Rothesay; a step-daughter, Janice Green of Calgary, AB; beloved grandchildren, Alex, Jill, Daniel, Olivia, Noah, Rowan and Meriet; Edgar and Hayden and their mother Haidee Aguilar-Gasca; his siblings, Gene Hudson (the late Cheryl), Margaret McAllister (Arnold), Dorothy Reimer (Bruce) and Doug Hudson (Maxine) his close friend, Nancy Hamilton; the mother of his children, Cora Hudson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Gerry was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Nice) Hudson in 2017; and his siblings: Jack Hudson, Eleanor Pirie, Ted Hudson and Ralph Hudson.
Gerald is resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.. The Royal Canadian Legion will be holding a Veteran Tribute service at 6pm. A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 am from Carleton Kirk United Church. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
