Obituary of John Kinley Moore
The death of John Moore, husband of the late Alice (Dickson) Moore occurred at the Shannex Nursing Home on Sunday, October 16, 2011 after a period of failing health. He was born in New Glasgow, NS on June 20, 1931 to the late Freeman and Clara (Horne) Moore. John worked for many years at the Telegraph Journal as an Ad Compositor. He belonged to the Nova Scotia Highland Pipe Band playing the bass drum. He also enjoyed bowling, playing darts and cards, square dancing, watching western movies, and reading western novels. He is survived by his children: Margaret J.A. and Dan (Murray), Cynthia M. and Richard (Mott), Robert F. and Darlene Moore, Jonathan Wayne Kinley Moore; step-children: Kim Happer (Andrew), and Sherry Briggs (Brian); sister, Aleen (Moore) Morgan Kraft; four grandchildren: Michael Murray, Jeremy and Laura Lee Mott, Robert Jr and Natasha (Cook) Moore, and Christopher and Katie (Garnett) Moore and one great-grandchild, Delilah Moore. Also surviving is his first wife, Elizabeth J.F. (Murray) Moore. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made with the War Amps, Canadian Mental Health Association or Children’s Wish Foundation.
