Obituary of Kenneth Albert Poley
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Kenneth "Sony" Albert Poley of Saint John East, husband of the late Stella "Bert" A. (Graves) Poley, which occurred on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Sony was born in Saint John on January 14, 1930, a son of the late Frederick A. and Charlotte E. (Craig) Poley. He was a life long resident of Saint John, educated in local schools and was employed for over 35 years with Irving Pulp and Paper Co. He is survived by two daughters, Dianne C. (Eric) Grant of Rothesay and Elaine E. Poley of Saint John East; four grandsons, Andrew (Amanda), William, Thomas and Timothy Grant; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Katelyn Grant; one nephew, Michael O’Keefe and one niece, Cathy Allen. Sony was predeceased by a sister, Doreen O’Keefe and by Barney and Buffy. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 2-4 pm. A celebration of Sony’s life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery later in the spring.
