Obituary of Guy Alexander Swan
Guy Alexander Swan of Westfield passed away on January 30, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 5, 1927 he was the only child of the late Clarence and Dora (Piercy) Swan of McAdam. Guy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie (Coy) and his children, Brenda Phinney (Malcolm) of Victoria Corner, NB, Kevin (Angela) of Enfield, NS and Bradley (Lorrie) of Saint John; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Kayla Phinney, Matthew (Ashley), Brandon and Cody Swan, Adam (Trish) and Aaron Swan; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Bradley and Alyssa. He is also survived by his close cousin, Allie Swan (Norma) of McAdam. Guy was retired from CP Rail. He was a member of the Westfield United Church and served as a trustee for a number of years. He was also a member of Ashlar Masonic Lodge of McAdam. Guy enjoyed spending time at the family cottage at Oromocto Lake. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Westfield United Church. Interment will be in McAdam at a later date. Donations may be made to the Westfield United Church Building Fund, McAdam Historical Restoration Commission or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
