Obituary of Edna Hodgkinson
Edna Hodgkinson of Saint John, wife of the late Walter "Harry" Hodgkinson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 01, 2012 at Kennebec Manor. Born in Eldon Lane, County Durham, England on September 11, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Siddle) Gibson. Edna immigrated with her husband to Canada after the War, and has resided in Saint John for more than 40 years. She volunteered with the ALS Society, and was a fantastic knitter. Edna is survived by her sons, David Hodgkinson (Theresa) of Breslau, Ontario, and Thomas Hodgkinson of Edmonton, Alberta; grandchildren Lisa, Clifford, Ryan, and Heidi; a sister, Ruby Colyer of England; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Edna was predeceased by brothers Bill and Jack Gibson; and by sisters Ann, Margaret, Elizabeth, and Alice. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, with visiting on Sunday, November 4, 2012, from 2-5 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
