Obituary of Mary Irene Hulme
The death of Mrs. M. Irene Hulme of French Village Road, wife of the late Benjamin Hulme, occurred on Saturday, July 06, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Hill Grove, NS on November 19, 1921, she was a daughter of the late John and Edna Amero. Irene worked at various places around Saint John, until her retirement in 1982 from the Saint John General Hospital, where she worked in the dietary department. She was an Elder and the President of the Ladies Group at Golden Grove United Church. After moving to Glen View United Church, she became a member of the UCW and an honourary Elder. Irene is survived by her daughters: Carol Wilkins (pre-deceased by her husband, Donald), Dianne Hulme, and Linda Hachey, all of French Village Road; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandchild; sister, Mary Lou Carr (Sherman) of Mississauga; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her daughter, Edna (Burke) (Hosford); 3 grandsons: Keven, Bobby, and Terry; granddaughter, Shirley; brother, Melvin Amero; twin sister, Arlene Nolan; and sister, Theresa Belanger. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at Glen View United Church on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to Glenview United Church Memorial Fund, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
