Obituary of Phyllis Melvina Norman

Phyllis Melvina Norman of Saint John passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Phyllis was born on January 16, 1919 in Chatham NB, and was the oldest daughter of Lawrence "Larry" and Elizabeth (Gorveatte) Losier. Phyllis moved to Saint John with her family as a child and lived in West Saint John until she married her first husband, Donald Clark and moved to Grand Bay-Westfield in 1957. Eighteen years after Donald passed away she married Colin H. Norman and moved to Latimore Lake. In recent years she lived with her daughter, Barbara. She worked at Rocmaura Nursing Home as a nurse’s aid before retiring. Phyllis was Anglican by faith. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Barbara Bernier, Grand Bay-Westfield; son, Paul D. Clark, Sussex; sisters, Marjorie (Bernard) Keith; Shirley (Harold) Blizzard; and Carol Giggey; grandchildren, Donald (Linda Hubbard) White; Mark (Julie Reid) Peverill; Beth White and Amy Newell; she is also survived by 4 great grandchildren including Joe Power who held a special place in her heart; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her first husband, Donald Clark and second husband Colin Norman, she was predeceased by, brothers, Ken, Bobby, Larry; sisters, Audrey, Edith, Beryl and Joan; and son-in-law, Bill Bernier. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A graveside service for immediate family will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 am at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
