Obituary of Betty Marie Handrahan
Handrahan, Betty M. – It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Betty Marie (Gallop) Handrahan of Quispamsis, NB, wife of the late Joseph Earle Handrahan which occurred on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Embassy Hall, Quispamsis. Born in Saint John on October 9, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Ormand and Lillian (Thoms) Gallop. Betty was employed with St. Joseph’s Hospital in the housekeeping department for 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, reading, puzzles and gardening. She is survived by three sons, Joseph (Gail) of Saint John, Terry (Haley) of Maine, and Wade of Halifax; three daughters, Bonnie Boudreau (Dennis Dobbin) of NS, Lynn Rogerson (Tom) of Saint John, and Bettyjo Miller (Nick) of Quispamsis; one sister, Carolyn Taylor (Wendall) of PE; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by one son Brian. The family would like to thank the staff of Embassy Hall for their care of Betty during her stay there. By request of the family the visiting and funeral service will be held privately. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424).
