Obituary of Ronald Cecil Austin
The death of Bud Austin of Saint John occurred on Monday, October 7, 2013, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on June 15, 1944, he was the son of the late Robert "Ted" and Margaret (Preston) Austin. Prior to his retirement, Bud was employed as a bricklayer and was also a member of Local 1. He was a biker all his life and also loved to ride horses. Bud was well known for his role as the stagecoach driver in the Loyalist Parade. Bud is survived by his children, Alana Austin of Ontario, April Wood (Kenneth "Chet") of Saint John, Luke Austin of Richibucto Village and Kelly Mitchell (Jeff Taylor) of Saint John; sisters, Ruth Leslie (Art) of Millville and Vi Adams (Chuck) of Hammond River; brothers, Donald Austin (Sharon) of Musquash and Gary Austin of Saint John; grandchildren, Sarah Dawn, Daryl Jr., Cody, Morgan and Chayden; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Vance and birth parents, Cecil Graham and Florence Day. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the IWK, Children’s Wish Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
