Obituary of David Roy Fairweather

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of David Roy Fairweather of Saint John, husband of Susan (Redding) Fairweather, which occurred on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 8, 1948 in Saint John he was a son of the late Roy and Mildred (McNamara) Fairweather. David worked for the Rothesay Superstore as a grocery clerk and the Superstore Atlantic Warehouse as supervisor for 34 years. He was a singer for the Hillcrest United Baptist Church Choir Praise Team and the College of Organists for a number of years. David also volunteered at Hillcrest United Baptist Church Soul Food Team, the Social Committee and the Hope Mission at Main Street Baptist Church. David, along with another couple, also volunteered his time the first Sunday of every month at a small church service at Hillcrest Village. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; son, Mark (Tasha) of Saint John; two grandchildren, Brandon Stoddard and Madison Fairweather. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 10:00 am from Hillcrest United Baptist Church. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
