Obituary of Joan Elizabeth Haggerty
Haggerty, Joan Elizabeth – Surrounded by her loving family the death of Joan Haggerty, wife of Joseph Allen Haggerty, occurred on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Bobby’s Hospice. She was born on July 11, 1934 in Saint John to the late John and Shawn (Martin) Young. Joan was employed as a school bus driver for 25 years. She was a member of the Thursday am Ladies "C" Bowling League. She is survived by her loving husband Joe, six children: Robert Hodgson (Gabby) of Edmunston; Lloyd Halpin (Martha) of Saint John; Peter Halpin (Amy) of Quispamsis; G. Robbie Halpin (Laura) of Saint John; Jacqueline Halpin (Ken) of Vancouver, BC and Angela Haggerty of Kingston Peninsula; fourteen grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Stephen, Rachel, Kim, Kelly, Andrea, Kyle, Colbie, Lyndsay, Matthew, Dale and Lauren; two great grandchildren, Calie and Xavier; brother, Doug Young (Marilyn Daulton) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents Joan was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Halpin; four siblings, Jim Young, Ronnie Young, Nancy Burke; grandson, Gregory and an infant sister. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, January 18, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
