Obituary of Douglas Livingstone Wallace
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Douglas Livingstone Wallace of Saint John, husband of Barbara Rosalie (Suttie) Wallace, which occurred on Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on November 14, 1931 he was a son of the late Hudson and Lillian (Livingstone) Wallace. Douglas was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Douglas loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him so much joy. Many fond memories and friends were made at the family home on Johnston Rd, Treadwell Lake. He was a former member of the Caledonia Pipe Band. Douglas was also a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; four children, Michael of Saint John; Janice (Peter) Murray of Saint John; Janet Hall of Saint John and Judy (Dan) Lane of Hampton; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Joel) Nattrass, Adam and Andrew Murray, Luke, Mark and Calvin Hall, and Lia Lane; son-in-law, Gary Hall; two sisters, Shirley (Patrick) Toole of Rothesay and Doreen "Dodie" Humphrey of Saint John; two brothers, Larry (Margaret) Wallace of Moncton and Jerry (Sheila) Wallace of Quispamsis; sister-in-laws, Noreen (Suttie) Martin and Audrey Suttie; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Douglas was predeceased by his brother-in-laws, Ronald Humphrey and Harold Suttie. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 from Cornerstone Baptist Church at 1:00 pm. A private family interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Saint John Regional Hospital – Cardiac Health and Wellness Clinic would be appreciated by the family.
