Obituary of Elizabeth Margaret Brooks
It is with sadness that the family of Libby Brooks announce her passing on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Libby was born in Millinocket, Maine on October 15, 1928. Libby spent many years in Fairvale, NB, Lakeland, Florida, and Kiersteadville, NB. Her competitive spirit will be missed. She was an avid golfer and a sports fanatic. She loved to volunteer, play cards, shop, and cook, but most of all, Libby was all about family. Libby was the wife of the late Carl R. Brooks. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Pound and Estella Pound (Reynolds). She was pre-deceased by her son-in-law and friend, Gerry Boyce. Libby was one of 14 children and is survived by her brother, Oswald Pound and her sisters, Marie Henry (Bob) and Theresa Madore (Henry); her 8 children, Marie Collier (John), Robert Brooks, Jean Henheffer (Paul), Richard Brooks (Karen), Carl T. Brooks, Debbie Boyce (Dennis), Mike Brooks, and Peter Brooks (Kelly); her 18 grandchildren, Stephen Collier (Paula), Scott Collier (Kaori), Heather Middlebro' (John), Jennifer Roberts (Dean), Bradley Kiss (Ashley), Sarah Brooks-Gaignard (Dan), Kate Scott (Andrew), Michael Henheffer (Meagan), Sarah Luce (Steve), Karen Brooks, Abby Brooks, Matthew Boyce (Jen), Ryan Boyce (Krista), Ashley Boyce (Corey), Monique Melanson, Nicholas Brooks (Venessa), Dax Brooks, and Cal Brooks; her 26 great-grandchildren, Vatican, Tyler, Alex, Sophie, Raine, Kai, Ella, Ben, Libby, Brooke, Bailey, Charlie, Bryn, Mikala, Anna, Stephen, Braden, Quintin, Devin, Jynessa, Brooklynn, Spencer, Joshua, Cadence, Gage, and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. There will be a memorial service at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, on Saturday, July 21st at 10:00 am. Reception to follow in the church hall. For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
