Obituary of Murray Leonard McCauley
It is with great sadness that the family of Murray Leonard McCauley of Saint John, husband of the late Audrey Marie (Morris) McCauley, announces his passing on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 29, 1927 in Saint John he was the son of the late William and Jennie (Shanks) McCauley. Murray was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Murray loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him so much joy. Murray worked for several years for the Saint John Fire Department, retiring as Fire Inspector. He loved spending time on his sail boat and summering at his cottage in Bayswater. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and also travelled to several Children’s Hospitals as a member of the Shriners. He is survived by his sons, David (Janice Richard) and Eric (Pam Doyle); daughter, Janice (Jerry) Wilson; five grandchildren, Andrew McCauley, Christopher (Jeannine) McCauley, Michael (Amanda) McCauley, Jennifer (Shawn) Ervin and Jeffery (Suzanne) Wilson; eight great-grandchildren, Hayden McCauley, Lucas McCauley, Taylor McCauley, Jaelyn McCauley, Benjamin Ervin, Madison Ervin, Evan and Matthew Wilson; special friend, Betty McClary; several nieces and nephews. Murray was predeceased by his brothers, Gordon and William McCauley and infant granddaughter, Tanya Wilson. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Murray’s wishes there will be no formal visitation. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 12:00 pm. For those who wish, remembrances to the Shriner’s Hospital for Sick Children or any charity of the donor’s choice.
