Obituary of Margaret Mary Button
Margaret Mary Button of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Elias Button, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a lengthy illness which she fought courageously. Born in Owl’s Head, NS on July 17, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Henry and Amanda (O’Brien) Toole. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She made friends wherever she went and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. Margaret was a faithful member of several churches, leaving a legacy of her faith to be remembered by all. She loved to listen to Christian music, especially The Gaithers. Margaret also enjoyed knitting face clothes and helping others. She is survived by her children, Rachel (Rick) Perron of Quispamsis, NB; Amanda (Gerard) Berthiaume of Saint John, and Marsha Button of Carbonear, NL; four grandchildren, Meghan, Katlyn, Zachary, and Victoria; one brother, Bernard Toole; one sister, Helen Knox; several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, parents, one brother, James Toole; three sisters, Anna Toole, Shirley Barraclough and twin sister, Marie Kelly. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2:30 pm. For those who wish, remembrances to the Special Olympics or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
