Obituary of Joan Elizabeth Baker
Joan Elizabeth Baker of Saint John, wife of James P. Chandler, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 10, 1954, she was a daughter of Doris (McKiel) Rogers and the late Robert Rogers. Joan was a member of the Buffalo Club, and in her spare time enjoyed going for drives, playing darts, cribbage, and bingo. In addition to Jim and to her mother of Saint John, Joan is survived by two sons, Charles Rogers (Heather) of Lower Greenwich, and John Joseph Baker at home; grandchildren Dylan Andrew Hamilton, Ryan Charles Rogers, and Islay Rogers; several step-children and step-grandchildren; siblings Donnie Rogers (Elva) of Saint John, Dolly Rogers of Saint John, Robert Rogers (Irene) of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Lori Lawrence (Brian) of Saint John, Kelli Rogers of Saint John, Jeffrey Rogers (Carrie) of Pennfield, Charles Rogers (Michelle) of Waasis, and Sherry Rogers of Toronto; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 12:00 Noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will take place at a later date in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
