Obituary of Alfreda Bond
It is with great sadness the family of Alfreda Bond of Saint John announce her passing, which occurred on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Bobby’s Hospice. Alfreda was born in Belleisle, a daughter of the late Frederick and Albina (Poirier) Chaisson. She spent the greater part of her life in Saint John and was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith. Freda enjoyed time with her family and will be sadly missed. She was predeceased by her first husband, Herman F. Burke, and her second husband, Chesley E. Bond; her sisters Anna and Carol; and brothers Al, Oliver, and Raymond. Freda is survived by five sons, Wayne C. Burke (Velma) of New Glasgow, NS, Herman J. Burke of Millidgeville, Chesley D. "Bucky" Bond (Kelly) of Saint John East, John Bond (Bernise) of Millidgeville, and J. Vincent Bond of Saint John East; two sisters, Madeline McGuire of Quispamsis and Clorissa Helps of Red Deer, AB; eight grandchildren, Alisha, Ashley, Adam, Amanda, Jonathan, Samantha, Tyler, and Jared; two great grandchildren, William and Cassius; and several nieces and nephews. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service, which will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 67 Magazine Street, Saint John. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Carleton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
