Obituary of June Ann Roemmele
The death of June Ann Roemmele, wife of the late Frederick Roemmele, occurred on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born June 2, 1921 in Windsor, ON, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Ann (Rath) Francis. June was also predeceased by her son, Douglas, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by: daughter, Lee Ann Hicks of Connecticut; daughter-in-law, Mary Roemmele of Ottawa; four grandchildren: Kimberley Hicks of Halifax, NS, Bruce Hicks (Donna) of Edmonton, AB, Sarah Roemmele (Jason) of Ottawa, ON and Erik Roemmele of Ottawa, ON; four great-grandchildren: Hana, Hayden, Meaghen and Ashleigh; her brother-in-law, Dr. Ed Roemmele (Jean) of Windsor, ON and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She enjoyed many happy years at the two cottages her husband, Fred, built on the Bay of Fundy. Many hours were spent with her bridge friends and neighbours, gathered on the "Porch" in Renforth for many enjoyable afternoons. In recent years she made many new friends at Chateau de Champlain. At June’s request, there is no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances to the Cherry Brook Zoo would be appreciated by the family.
