Obituary of Phyllis Grace Moore
It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Phyllis Grace Moore, wife of the late Walter Raymond Moore, which occurred on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Saint John, January 6, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Grace Horsman. Phyllis worked most of her life for DND at Base Gagetown, where she made many friends, retiring in the late 1980s so she could spend more time with Walter, the love of her life, to whom she was married for almost 60 years. Together they spent many happy years at their summer cottage on the Washademoak Lake, creating gatherings for family and friends, but most especially, creating wonderful memories for their grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Diane Moore and her husband Richard Clark; grandsons, Matthew Clark (Kealy) and Tyler Clark (Kristy); great-granddaughters, Anwyn Clark and Amelie Clark; brothers, Donald (Jeannene) Horsman and Allan (Dawn) Horsman; sisters, Alliene Wilson, Frances Hunt and Elsie (Joe) Botelho; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Hazen Wood Horsman (Myrna). Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
