Obituary of Harold Joseph Doucette
Harold Joseph Doucette of Saint John passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 31, 1931 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Addie (Gavel) and Alfred Doucette. Harold was a very active man who enjoyed spending time outside and going for long walks. He loved life and enjoyed music, especially entertaining the cruise ship passengers by playing his guitar. An avid outdoorsman, Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing and going for long drives in the car, and often spent evenings playing TV Bingo. Harold is survived by his children, Donna Doucette (Mike) of Bloomfield, NB, Edward Doucette (Tanya) of Cumberland Bay, NB, Kelly Anne Cochrane (Stuart) of Browns Flat; a step-daughter, Brenda Doucette (Charles) of Yarmouth, NS; grandchildren Bradley Doucette (Mackenzie) of Fredericton, Tara Little (Brad) of Hartland, NB, Katie Burke of Saint John, Brianna Doucette of Hay River, NB, Eddie Doucette of Saint John, Amy Cochrane of Grand Prairie, AB, Brent Cochrane of Saint John, and John Doucette of Cumberland Bay; a great granddaughter, Brooklyn; sisters Mildred Bourque and Alice Earl, both of Yarmouth, NS; and several nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Doucette; his second wife, Phyllis Doucette; two sons, David and Gary Doucette; a step-son, Paul Doucette; a grandson Billy Joe Doucette; sisters Blanche Muise, Julia Fox, and Annie Longstaff; and brothers Harvey, Alfred, and Howard Doucette. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 1:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers.
