Obituary of Earl A. Graves
Earl Alexander "Bunny" Graves of Saint John, husband of Anna Teresa (McLean) Graves, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on March 15, 1932, he was a son of the late Earl D. and Rita (Day) Graves. Bunny worked as a heavy equipment operator on various construction projects in the Saint John area, mostly for Galbraith Construction, and continued to enjoy working until he was 78 years old. In his spare time he took great pleasure in sitting on his deck admiring the view of the city and also his time spent at Derek’s cottage in Kars; but what he valued most was the time he spent with his family. In addition to his wife of 51 years, Bunny is survived by his sons, Chris Graves (Lana) of Saint John, and Derek Graves (Tricia Cole) of Saint John; his grandsons, Christopher and Jeffrey; two sisters, Dorothy Murphy of Toronto, ON, and Rita Hebert (Frenette) of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bunny was predeceased by sisters Alberta Poley, Kathleen Causey, Barbara Greer, and Shirley Ryan. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 7-9 PM and Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon Street, Saint John, on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Kidney Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
