Obituary of Doris Vivian Murray

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother Doris Vivian (Trenholm) Murray at the St. John and St. Stephen Home. She was surrounded by her family as she transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on March 26, 2016 at the age of 93. Born on September 30, 1922 in Port Elgin, NB, Doris was the eldest daughter of the late Wesley and Bessie (Allen) Trenholm. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1958, (from this point forward she raised her four young children on her own), her sister Betty Trenholm, brother Reverend Herman Trenholm, sister in law Margaret Trenholm, her niece Rebecca and nephew Ron. Doris is survived by three sons, David (Rob, now deceased), Norman (Darlene), Stephen and daughter Gail Donnahee (Mike). She is also survived by her four cherished grandchildren Christa Parent (Larry), Scott Murray (Shelley), Sarah Callaghan (Rachel) and Janelle Landry (Joel). She was also blessed with four beautiful great grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Marckus Parent, Marcie Parent, Dax Murray and Violet Landry, and she has one surviving brother, Cedric Trenholm (Mary), and sister-in-law, Mabel Atkinson as well as several nieces, nephews, and greats. Doris was a long-standing member of Full Gospel Assembly, loved people and was happiest when she could show that love by greeting her friends and new people coming into the church. She had a very personal relationship with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and when at church could often be found in the prayer room. She was a wonderful example and role-model to all of her family. Until just recently, Doris loved to go for drives to visit family and friends in Port Elgin, Moncton, Fredericton and she especially loved drives in the country, often accompanied by her dog, Brutus. Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Her family would like to thank the staff of St. John and St. Stephen Home Inc. for her extended care over the last six plus years, especially the second floor nursing staff for their great compassion toward her and the family at this most difficult time. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row where visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 7 – 9 PM and Thursday March 31 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A celebration of Doris' life will be held in Brenan's Chapel on Friday, April 1 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Port Elgin, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Full Gospel Assembly or a charity of your choice.
