Obituary of Marie Aldora Hampton
It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Aldora Hampton, wife of the late Grenville George Hampton, announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with her family by her side. Born on September 23, 1934, she was a daughter to the late Isaïe and Cesarée (Thibodeau) Basque. Marie Aldora had a love of the outdoors. She enjoyed nature immensely, and had quite a green thumb. Above all, Marie Aldora cherished her family and the time she spent with them. Marie Aldora will be lovingly remembered by her children: Linda Hampton (Denis), Steven Hampton, Margaret Hampton and Elizabeth Hampton (George Durette), grandchildren: Trevor Kaye, Michael and Bradley Wilson, Samantha Durette, AJ and Paul Hampton, her great grandchildren: Kennadie and Zachary Wilson, Ashton Gavin, Eldorra Kaye and Jaxson Hubert-Hampton, her sister Geraldine Hill along with several nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Besides her parents and husband Grenville, Marie Aldora was predeceased by her son Allen Hampton and siblings: Gérard, Rosilda Breault, Isaïe, Stanislas, Léonard, Mathias, Alma Paulin, Vincent, and Hormisdas Basque. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4 from 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street, on Monday, December 5 at 12:10 PM, with her nephew, Father Stanislas Paulin as Celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick and online condolences can be placed at www.brenansfh.com
