Obituary of Joyce Estelle McLean
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Joyce Estelle McLean of Saint John, wife of the late Alan B. Mclean, which occurred at her home on July 8, 2016. Born in Minto, NB on September 10, 1927, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma (O’Leary) Myles. A graduate of St Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1950, she worked as a staff nurse at the Minto Hospital. However, the majority of her nursing career was spent as a private duty nurse, nursing many prominent citizens in Saint John. Joyce and her husband, Alan were philanthropic with many charities, donating their time and money. She was the last remaining of immediate family. Joyce is survived by her nephew, Gregory (Deborah) Kane of Prince George, BC. Besides her husband, Joyce was predeceased by her brothers: Greg, John, Murray and James; sisters, Marie Kane, Corinne and Roberta. The family of Joyce would like to thank, Janet King, Arthur Kincade, Michelle Flarow and Senior Watch for all their wonderful care and compassion. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 12:00 Noon from Holy Trinity Church 21 Canon Street. For those who wish, remembrances to SPCA - Animal Rescue League or any Local Charity of Donor’s choice would be appreciated. Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
