Obituary of William John MacCollum
William John "Jack" MacCollum passed away on June 30, 2016 surround by his family at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on March 25, 1937, he was a son of the late Clarence and Eunice (Peatman) MacCollum. Jack was a member of Peerless Lodge and Sapphire Lodge. He loved to play cards and spending time with his friends and family. He worked at O’Brien Electric as an electrician for 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Grace; children, Randy (Carole), of Guelph, ON; Brenda (Stan) Aubie, of Saint John; siblings, Gordon (Flo), of Winnipeg, MB; Lois Maxwell, of Calgary, AB; Robert "Bob" (Fran) of St. Albert, AB; Joyce Robertson, of Saint John; Doris (Woody) Welwood, of Edmonton, AB; Nancy (Rick) Arnold, of Mount Pleasant, NC; Victor (Mary), of Rothesay; granddaughter, Jenna Aubie (Dave), Saint John; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Sherwood and brother, David MacCollum. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 4, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family.
