Obituary of Doreen Carrick Harding
The passing of Doreen Harding of Saint John, beloved wife of 62 years to the late Charles Harding occurred on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 19, 1926 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Winnifred (Carrick) Higgins and step-daughter of the late Lillian Higgins. Prior to her retirement, Doreen had a long working career with NBTel. Doreen is survived by her children, Stephen Harding (Linda) of Halifax, Eric Harding (Cynthia) of Saint John and Anne McIntyre (Gary) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Shawn, Chris, Leanne, Corey, Nick and Katie; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Caleb and Benjamin; sister-in-law, Doreen Higgins of Saint John; best friend, Jean Wood of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her daughter in infancy, Barbara and brother, Richard. As per Doreen’s wishes, all services will be held privately. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
