Obituary of Melina Mary Basque
It is with great sadness the family of Melina Mary (McGraw) Basque, wife of the late Albany J. Basque, announce her passing, which occurred on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Tracadie, NB on July 21, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Clement and Mary (Sonier) McGraw. Melina is survived by her children: Anthony Basque, Ronald Basque, Carmal Gough, Irene (Mike) Lewis and David Basque; brothers: Frank (Norma) McGraw, Ernest (Mabel) McGraw, Valmound (Alice) McGraw and Raymond McGraw; sisters: Lee McGrath, Ovilda Watson, Jean (Adelard) Malley, Leticia (Laurier) Robichaud, Florida Pare and Laura (Paul) McGrath; sister in law Yvonne McGraw; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Art McGraw; sister Leda Lanteigne; daughter in law Linda Basque; son in law Greg Gough; brothers in law: Lubin Lanteigne, George McGrath, Tony Watson and Telesphore Pare. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church, 316 Somerset St., Saint John, NB on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Melina may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
